Dujarric recalled that Israel's ban on the entry of shelter materials has been in effect for over five months . "In recent days," he emphasized, "temperatures have skyrocketed, and hundreds of thousands of people now find themselves without protection from the heat . Almost everyone in Gaza has been displaced at least once since the start of the war, and the makeshift shelters they managed to improvise or procure have often deteriorated or been abandoned when they were forced to flee ."

In Gaza, over the past two days, Israeli air strikes and artillery fire have intensified in some areas of Gaza City, while attacks also continue in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis.
